Tourists annoyed the inhabitants of the town in Austria so much that they forbade them to take selfies and closed the beautiful views with a fence

Residents of one of the most popular tourist cities of Hallstatt in Austria decided to reduce the influx of visitors. They came up with a way to deprive them of beautiful selfies, writes Фокус.

The city authorities, together with the residents, have long been trying to deal with a large influx of tourists, but the actions do not bring the desired result. Therefore, it was decided to ban taking selfies, for which most tourists come.

To do this, a high fence was installed in the most attractive place for filming, blocking all that beauty. Now tourists are forced to return home without beautiful photos, and this discourages them from going to Hallstatt again.

The mayor of the city, Alexander Shoyts, explained such measures by the fact that the locals simply want to be allowed to live in peace. The streams of tourists are endless - only 800 people live in the town, and the influx of travelers annually is a million.

For the most part, they crowd in one place - where a beautiful view of the city church of Hallstatt opens. As a result, it is simply impossible to pass in that place.

So far, a temporary wooden fence has been installed there, and the final decision on its fate will be made after public discussions.

Previously, the authorities have already tried to reduce the influx of tourists to Hallstatt by reducing the limit of tourist buses, but this was not enough.

The city's mayor wants to put up a banner to remind tourists that people live in Hallstatt.
