The Solar Impulse 2 solar-powered aircraft successfully flew across the Pacific Ocean and landed in California. bostonglobe.com.

The next stage of the world tour took three days. The speed of the aircraft ranged from 50 to 100 km per hour. “You know, there was a moment at night when I watched the reflection of the moon on the ocean, and I thought that I was all alone in this small cabin. But I felt completely confident. I am grateful to life that I now have such an experience. It’s probably one of the most fantastic experiences I’ve had in my life,” Picard said.

Environmentally friendly aircraft produced by the French design company Dassault Systémes. 17 thousands of solar panels that produce energy for the supply of aircraft electric motors, are installed on the wings of the aircraft.

At the end of the press conference, pilot Bertrand Piccard called this aircraft “a real miracle of technology.”
