Three men burned alive 17-year-old girl in Colorado
A 17-year-old girl from Colorado, who was found dead in her home in 2017, was “deliberately set on fire and burned alive,” police said.
Now law enforcement officers are looking for three suspects in the murder of a teenager, writes Fox News.
The Park County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday new results from the investigation of Maggie Long’s death and published new photo-photos of people involved in the fire at the girl’s house. Long was reported missing in December 2017 after she did not come to the concert at Platte Canyon High School.
“We believe this was a targeted crime and that at least three suspects are still at large. Maggie was intentionally set on fire and burned alive,” Park County Sheriff Tom McGraw said at a news conference.
Police later found Long's body in her house, which was set on fire. The place where the body was found was “severely damaged” by a flame, and law enforcement officers declared her death a murder three days after the discovery of the body. However, to suspect the suspects have so far failed.
McGraw said the criminals spent "a significant amount of time in the house" and set fire to the building to destroy the evidence. He added that one of the attackers could have been wounded on the night of the murder. It remains unclear whether the victim knew her killers, although, according to the police, this is not excluded.
“Investigations at the scene revealed that a fight had occurred between Maggie and her attackers before the fire started,” police said.
Police published identikits of the two suspects, but noted that the men may have changed their appearance, sold the vehicles used during the crime, and moved.
Authorities are offering remuneration in the amount of 50 000 dollars for information that will lead to the detention of suspects.
Anyone who has information about a crime is asked to contact the police through MaggieLongTaskForce.com or call: 303-239-4243 at the Park County Sheriff's office.
