The third attack of the month: in North Carolina, a shark attacked a child

On the coast of North Carolina, a 8-year-old boy was attacked by a shark.

The shark bit the boy around 4 hours on Sunday evenings, June 16, on Bald Head Island, which is 40 miles south of Wilmington.

Chris McCall, head of the village located off the coast, said that the shark had bitten the boy by the leg while he was swimming in the ocean.

The child was taken to the hospital by ferry. He is expected to fully recover. The name of the victim is not called.

At the time of this writing, the attack was the third shark attack off the coast of North Carolina in June.

Last week, an 19-year-old teen shark bit at Ocean Isle while he was surfing. Earlier this month 17-year-old girl remained without most of the legs in Fort Macon as a result of the attack.
