Trump in tight form demanded to close the lot of green cards

The president allowed the possibility of suspending the government if the Democrats did not support his immigration initiatives.

“I will be ready to“ close ”the government if the Democrats do not vote for border security, including the wall! - US President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter. - We need to get rid of the [immigration] lottery, the practice of “caught and let go” and so on and, finally, go to the merit based immigration system! It is necessary that wonderful people come to our country! ”

After a day of relative silence on Twitter, Trump stated: “Please understand that illegal crossing of our border has consequences, regardless of whether they (immigrants) have children or not, and many of them just use children for their unkind goals.

He also said that Congress should amend “the dumbest and worst immigration laws in the world” and called on voters to “vote for the Republicans” in the mid-term elections in November.

Donald Trump has previously proposed to cancel 1990’s new immigrant visa system, known as Green Card. Instead, he proposed to adopt a new bill called The raise (“The Rise”), suggesting a new mechanism for distributing visas based on the qualifications of the employee.

Lawmakers believe that the existing system is outdated and the lottery has become a "target for scammers, it does not meet economic and humanitarian interests."

The new system, according to the President of the United States, will select candidates “based on merit,” which, in his opinion, will protect American workers and US citizens.
