Trump: investigators will be interested in Hillary Clinton's connections with Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said that the US Department of Justice was interested in information about possible links between Hillary Clinton's campaign headquarters and Ukraine in 2016.

“As for Ukraine, it sounds like an important thing, like something very interesting,” Trump said in an interview with the television channel Fox News.

Last month, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, launched an investigation into the so-called “black book” files, which led to Manafort’s sudden departure from the Trump campaign. The investigation began after an audiotape confirmed that a high-ranking Ukrainian anti-corruption official had apparently admitted to leaking Manafort’s financial information in 2016 in favor of Clinton.

Ukrainian law enforcement officials said they have plenty of evidence of collusion and misconduct by the Democrats, and they want to share this information with US officials at the Department of Justice. Recently, a Ukrainian court ruled that the leakage of Manafort’s financial information was tantamount to unlawful interference with US elections.

When asked by moderator Sean Hanniti, should Americans see the results of an ongoing investigation in Ukraine of whether officials in this country worked with the Clinton team, Trump said: "I think we will do it."

“We now have a wonderful new attorney general, who in a short time has already done an excellent job. He is very intelligent and persistent, I would forward the question to him, ”added Trump. “But I can assume that he would like to see this.”

“People have been talking about this matter with Ukraine for a long time,” the US president added.

Fox News writes that Trump repeats the message of his personal lawyer, Rudi Giuliani. He wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: “Keep your eyes on Ukraine.”

In the 2017 publication, Politico revealed that Ukrainian officials not only publicly questioned Trump’s willingness to take over as president, but also worked behind the scenes in favor of Clinton. The publication found out that the Ukrainian government worked with the consultant of the Democratic Party in the search for compromising evidence against Trump, including the study of Manafort’s Russian ties. It helped make him resign.

Trump also accused Muller of having, in his opinion, ruined the careers of many of his team members.
