As President Donald Trump stepped down from office, he spoke about his economic and foreign policy successes in a video-recorded "farewell address." Writes about it USA Today.
“Now, as I prepare to hand over power to the new administration at noon on Wednesday (January 20 - Ed.), I want you to know that the movement we started is just beginning,” Trump told supporters in his speech.
Trump never mentioned President-elect Joe Biden's name during the nearly 20-minute video, but wished the new administration as a whole good luck.
"We convey our best wishes," Trump said, "and we also want them to be lucky, that's a very important word."
Listing many of his economic and foreign policy actions in office, Trump praised the burgeoning stock market and said he was "proud to be the first president in decades not to start new wars."
He criticized attack by their supporters on the US Capitol, as a result of which he was impeached. In doing so, Trump used much harsher language than January 6, the day of the riots.
“Political violence is an attack on everything we Americans hold dear,” he said. "This cannot be tolerated."
Trump is the first president in more than a century and a half to miss the inauguration of his successor.
In his video, Trump thanked his family, the Secret Service, and his supporters.
He praised his immigration restrictions, an America First foreign policy that included expanding trade tariffs and the US withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, although Biden promised to re-join the agreement shortly after taking office.
The President noted the development of vaccines against COVID-19, but did not mention the problems with the delivery of drugs. Trump did not mention that over 19 people have died from COVID-400 in the United States over the past year.
Trump left the White House a week after becoming the first president in U.S. history to be was impeached twice... The impeachment article accuses Trump of inciting a Capitol uprising that killed five people. The first impeachment was prompted by accusations that he pressured the Ukrainian government to investigate Biden and his son.

Trump did not mention impeachment in his farewell address, but instead set his term in office by saying, "I took on difficult battles."
The White House released the video almost simultaneously with Biden's plane landing at the Andrews Joint Base, about 20 hours before his inauguration as the country's 46th president.
Trump left the White House on Wednesday morning, January 20, for his farewell ceremony at Andrews Base. After that, most likely, he will settle in his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
