Trump plans to run for president in 2024

US President Donald Trump has already announced to his advisors that he plans to run for president again in 2024, reported Axios two sources dedicated to private conversations.

According to Axios, this is a clear indication that Trump understands that he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. Even though the president still claims: he is the true winner; there was election fraud; his team will fight to the end in the courts.

According to US law, the president can be elected for two terms - and not necessarily consecutive. Representatives of the publication contacted the Trump administration and his campaign headquarters, but were unable to obtain comments on this matter.

The authors of the article note that advisers advising Republicans who are likely to run in the 2024 elections fear the prospect of Trump abandoning his presidential ambitions, given his overwhelming influence on millions of GOP voters.

Even four years after leaving office, Donald Trump may well remain a prominent figure in the Republican primaries. This fact alone could freeze the ambition, fundraising and staffing of individual candidates and the Republican National Committee seeking to regroup and move beyond Trump's influence.

Based on the numbers, 40% of Americans surveyed on November 5-7 believe Trump, according to a Harris poll conducted with Axios, will run for president in 2024 if he is defeated by Biden.

By the way, on the day of his inauguration in 2017, Trump submitted documents to the Federal Election Commission in order to qualify for the role of a presidential candidate in the 2020 elections.
