How Trump and Coronavirus inadvertently made a man from Saudi Arabia popular
In a Twitter post on a research institute that began developing reusable personal protective equipment to help combat the spread of coronavirus, US President Donald Trump tried to mention the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but by accident instead this made a reference to the star of Snapchat from Saudi Arabia. Writes about this Albawaba.
Users of Saudi Arabia’s social networks noted the wrong mention as soon as they saw it, creating an infinite number of memes showing that the FDA or Abu Al-Fida was in a hurry to save the United States in an emergency with COVID-19.
The FDA from Saudi Arabia soon became one of the most popular hashtags: more and more people created funny memes demonstrating the “friendship” between Abu Al-Fida and the US president, while others added photos of the Saudi guy to photo briefings in the White House.
“Abu Al-Fida now,” a Twitter user captioned one of the video memes.

Abu Al-Fida, who is more popular on Snapchat than on Twitter, had only a few followers, but to get around 15 thousand new followers on Twitter overnight. The FDA has not yet posted anything on Twitter.

“Abu Al-Fida: I met with Trump and we will soon find a solution, don’t worry,” they signed a photo collage online.
“Abu Al-Fida invented a 5-minute coronavirus test, and Donald Trump made a deal with him,” reads the caption to the photo.
“Don’t worry, we will try to get it done as soon as possible, stay home,” another Twitter user captioned the photo collage.
