Trump approved the federal budget

President Trump has approved a federal government spending bill. He previously wrote that he could use the veto power by rejecting the federal budget bill approved by the US Senate on Friday morning, writes “Voice of America«.

The head of the White House was dissatisfied with the absence of a document worth 1,3 trillion dollars in spending, points about the future of illegal immigrants brought to the United States during childhood, and about financing the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico.

In the message in Twitter Donald Trump said Friday that illegal immigrants who were under the protection of the DACA law adopted during the presidency of Barack Obama were “totally forgotten” by Congress, blaming the Democratic Party for that.

On the eve of the representatives of the administration stated that the president is going to approve the budget bill. Donald Trump planned to agree with the Democrats' initiative to extend the DACA law that protects children of illegal immigrants from being deported from the United States in exchange for financing the construction of a 25 billion dollar wall on the southern border.

Instead, the bill, approved by the Senate on Friday, is supposed to finance construction in the amount of only 1,6 billion.

“I am going to VETO this bill because the over 800 people protected by DACA have been completely forgotten by Democrats (they are not even mentioned in the bill) and because the BORDER WALL, which is critical to our national defense is not fully funded,” wrote in Twitter President of the U.S.A.

According to "Voice of America", the bill provides for a significant increase in the defense budget, including an increase in military personnel salaries by 2,4%.

The document also provides for 1,6 billion dollars in the creation of physical barriers and the 150-kilometer wall on the border with Mexico. Trump demanded to allocate billions of dollars for the construction of the 25 wall.

“There are 1,6 billion dollars to start building the wall on the southern border, the rest will follow later. And most importantly, 700 billions of dollars were allocated to strengthen the armed forces, 716 billions next year ... a record amount. I had to spend money on the distribution of Democrats to ensure the salary increase of the military and new equipment, ”wrote Trump on Twitter.

The leader of the Senate Democrats, Chuck Schumer, noted that the bill includes "many" compromises, and that the members of his party are "very satisfied."

Member of the House of Representatives Democrat Gregory Mix said that the so-called “distributions” that the President spoke about are investments in veteran programs, the development of municipal medical centers and transport infrastructure, and the strengthening of national security.

The bill does not provide subsidies for insurance companies that reduce prices for low-income clients. Also, there are no federal payments to carriers that are designed to help them with the most costly customers.

Both parties welcomed 4,6 to allocate a billion dollars to combat the opioid crisis and a record increase in the cost of medical research at the National Institutes of Health (3 billion dollars).

Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan noted that the bill takes into account a number of key priorities, including an increase in defense spending and assistance to veterans, as well as combating the opioid crisis and drug trafficking, repairing highways, railways and airports.

“No single bill of this magnitude can be perfect,” Ryan said. “But this document takes into account important priorities and makes us stronger, both domestically and abroad.”

The bill also provides for the improvement of the federal system of checking biographies when buying weapons.
There is a clause in the document that provides funding to states that comply with the current requirements of the immigration criminal background system and provides fines for federal agencies that do not comply with them.

In addition, funds have been allocated to strengthen school security, including training of employees and law enforcement officials to recognize signs of potential violence and prevent it, as well as to install metal detectors and other measures to prevent violence in schools.

To Democrats' disappointment, the bill makes no mention of so-called "Dreamers"—immigrants brought into the country illegally by their parents who were protected from deportation by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program introduced in 2012. Trump canceled the program late last year, ordering Congress to come up with a permanent plan within six months.

However, no measures were taken on this issue, despite numerous proposals from Democrats and Republicans, as well as inter-party initiatives. The federal judges, meanwhile, decided that part of the program’s provisions should remain in force until the end of the court proceedings on this matter.

“We are disappointed that we could not reach an agreement to protect Dreamers that is worthy of these patriotic young people,” said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. “We will continue to ask the Speaker to hold a vote to protect Dreamers and honor our values.”

Trump reiterated that in the absence of an agreement to blame the Democrats who "refuse to resolve the issue with the DACA."

On Thursday, at a special briefing at the White House on the budget theme, Mick Mulvani, Director of the Administrative and Budget Department of the White House, said that although the new bill is not perfect, it reflects the main presidential financial priorities, such as defense, the fight against opioids, the safety of American schools, creating new jobs and developing national infrastructure.
