Trump accused China and Russia of artificial currency devaluation
The President called games with devaluation unacceptable against the backdrop of rising interest rates in the United States, writes “Voice of America«.
US President Donald Trump on Monday accused Russia and China of artificially devaluing national currencies.
“Russia and China are playing devaluation of currencies, while the US continues to raise interest rates. This is unacceptable! ”Trump tweeted.
In a semi-annual report published on Friday, the US Federal Treasury again did not name any of the country's major trading partners currency manipulators, continuing attempts to reduce the huge trade deficit with China through negotiations and the introduction of duties.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed Memorandum on the introduction of tariffs for Chinese goods. The action aims to reduce the trade deficit with China, which Trump called the largest in the world.
The US sanctions impose duties on more than one hundred types of goods from China - from consumer electronics to shoes and clothes - totaling $ 60 billion, and are designed to punish Beijing for the decades-long theft of intellectual property (IP) of American corporations.
