Trump can strengthen sanctions against Russia

US President Donald Trump may veto a bill on new sanctions against Russia in order to introduce “even tougher” restrictive measures. Anthony Scaramucci, head of the White House communications department, announced this on CNN. According to him, Trump is a supporter of countermeasures against Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin reacted sharply to this statement, calling the behavior of the United States boorish. “It’s impossible to endlessly endure any rudeness towards our country. ... At some point we will have to answer, ”Putin said, answering a question from journalists, what would be the answer of Russia if the bill on new American sanctions against the Russian Federation is adopted.
We note the final version of the law on US sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea will be approved by the Senate by the end of July. This bill, in particular, gives restrictive measures the status of a law. The sanctions were imposed because of the annexation of the Crimea, the support of separatists in the east of Ukraine, and Russian intervention in last year’s US presidential elections.
The law was approved by the US House of Representatives. If President Donald Trump signs the document, he will no longer be able to loosen sanctions or substantially change American policy towards Russia without the consent of Congress.
