Trump deprives 19 of federal organizations

The administration of US President Donald Trump intends to cut federal spending by stopping 19 from financing government organizations and projects.

Edition LA Times collected a list of projects, the allocation of money for which Trump intends to stop.

African Development Foundation

It is an independent federal agency created by Congress to support and invest in African-American enterprises that work to improve life in African communities.

The organization was established in 1980.

Appalachian Regional Commission

The mission of the organization is to innovate and invest in building the capacity of communities and strengthening economic growth in Appalachia.

Year of creation: 1965.

Chemical Safety Board

It is an independent federal agency that investigates industrial chemical accidents. Members of the agency’s council are appointed by the president and approved by the Senate.

Year of creation: 1990.

Corporation for National and Community Service

The organization serves more than 5 millions of people locally through a wide range of services. These include projects in the 6 priority areas: disaster relief, economic empowerment, education, environmental projects, the struggle for a healthy future, support for veterans and military personnel.

Year of creation: 1993.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting

The company not only broadcasts, but also supports the Veterans Coming Home program, which includes helping some of 2,5 millions of American veterans re-enter society, as well as holding job fairs for people returning from hot spots.

Year of foundation: 1967.

Delta Regional Authority

The organization works to improve economic opportunities by helping to create jobs, build communities, and improve the lives of 10 for the millions of people who live in 252 counties in the Mississippi Delta region in 8 states.

Year of foundation: 2000.

Denali Commission

It is an independent federal agency responsible for providing essential utilities, operating infrastructure, and economic support throughout Alaska.

Year of foundation: 1998.

Institute of Museum and Library Services

This organization is the main source of federal support for 123 thousands of libraries in the country and 35 thousands of museums. Its mission is to push libraries and museums to introduce innovations, attract people and interactivity.

Inter-American Foundation

The project was created to direct assistance directly to support organizations for the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Fund also encourages partnerships between community-based organizations, business and local governments aimed at improving the quality of life for the poor and strengthening democratic practices in these countries.

US Trade and Development Agency

This agency helps companies create jobs in the US by exporting US goods and services for priority development projects in emerging economies. The agency links US business with export opportunities, funding project preparation and partnership development activities.

Legal Services Corporation

The organization helps poor Americans get legal services, and currently works with 134 independent legal aid organizations.

Year of foundation: 1974.

National Endowment for the Arts

NEA supports art and artists throughout the country, funding hundreds of programs to support and hold exhibitions and meetings with artists from all over the country.

Year of foundation: 1965.

National Endowment for the Humanities

The Foundation promotes successful scientists in the humanities and the dissemination of knowledge about history among Americans. Basically, this mission is achieved by awarding grants.

Year of foundation: 1965.

Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation

The organization promotes investment in urban, suburban and rural communities by local financial institutions.

Year of foundation: 1978.

Northern Border Regional Commission

The mission of this organization is to stimulate and support regional communities along the border of New England and Canada in their economic growth and development.

Year of foundation: 2008.

Overseas Private Investment Corporation

This body mobilizes private capital to help address critical government issues and, thus, promotes the priorities of US foreign policy and national security.

Year of foundation: 1971.

US Institute of Peace

The Institute is working to prevent, mitigate and resolve acute conflicts around the world. He does this by directly engaging in conflict zones and providing analysis, education, and resources to those who work for peace.

Year of foundation: 1984.

US Interagency Council on Homelessness

This organization coordinates and accelerates the work of the federal authorities to support homeless people, working in close partnership with the federal and local authorities.

Year of foundation: 1987.

Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars

This center is the country's key nonpartisan political forum for solving global problems using independent research and open dialogue.

Year of foundation: 1968.

Before that, Trump announced his intention withdraw funding or substantially cut it for 17 federal organizations, most of which deal with environmental issues and the protection of the rights of different segments of the population.
