Trump will protect Iran from Israeli attack

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump believes that if Israel attacks the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States should come to the aid of Tehran.

He has previously spoken out repeatedly against the Iran nuclear deal, saying that "sanctions need to be doubled down for another couple of months" and that "the 24-day notice Iran would receive before inspecting nuclear sites is unacceptable."

However, Trump's latest statement is a hundred and eighty degree turn - now the American tycoon believes that, in accordance with the terms of the deal, the United States must fight together with Iran if Israel attacks.

“You know, there's something about the Iran deal that people don't really know or understand. And no one ever explained that if someone attacks Iran, we will have to come to their defense,” he said in an interview.

“And I say – does this include Israel? And most people say yes. So if Israel attacks Iran because of this deal, I think we should fight against Israel,” he added.

On Wednesday, the Obama administration was able to enlist support of its landmark nuclear agreement with Iran by the 34 senators, ensuring its approval at a vote in Congress scheduled this month.
