The tragedy in Texas: the newlyweds died a half hour after the wedding

After just an hour and a half after the cherished words at the altar, a helicopter carrying a happy young couple from the celebration of their own wedding crashed into the hills. Both newlyweds and their pilot died.

23-year-olds Will Byler and Bailey Ackerman, students of Sam Houston University, flew off from their wedding on Sunday night with the pilot, 76-year-old Vietnam War veteran Gerald Lawrence, writes The Daily Mail.

Lawrence was a private commercial pilot who worked for the helicopter company owned by the groom's father. Fellow experts describe him as a “highly qualified” pilot.

On Sunday, the helicopter crashed a few kilometers from the city of Yuvalde and just a mile from the ranch, where the young people brought oaths of love and loyalty to each other before 700 guests. The helicopter spent a total of 10 minutes in the air.

Lawrence scored 911 to report a problem with the technique, before his death. Search teams had a hard time while they searched for the wreckage of a helicopter and the bodies of those killed in the dark (it all happened around 1: 47 nights).

Lawrence drove a couple to San Antonio Airport, where they were supposed to take a flight and go on a honeymoon. The pilot's wife said that he was very close to the Bayler family and had never in his career encountered an incident in the sky.

One of the guests, Eric Smith, described the celebration as a fairytale wedding, saying the couple were surrounded by friends and family as they boarded a helicopter and "took to the skies."

Debris found at dawn. The crash was confirmed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), who tweeted on Friday morning that experts were investigating the crash of the Bell 206B helicopter in Yuvald, a town about 80 miles west of San Antonio.

Jessica Stilley, the girlfriend of the deceased bride, wrote a touching Facebook message, paying tribute to the memory of her best friend.

“My sweet Bailey Rae, my heart is broken into a million pieces as I sit here and think about life without my best friend. I'm so sad to even caption these photos, but I just really need to share with everyone how beautiful you looked on your wedding day."

Jessica remembered tears of joy as she helped Bailey prepare for the biggest day of her life.

“I am so happy that you married the man of your dreams and found the precious love that you deserve. We always said that one day we would meet men with whom the earth would disappear from under our feet, and I am happy that you will be with him in the best “forever” you could imagine. Thank you for loving me."

After the couple got engaged, Bailey posted a favorite photo of them together, smiling happily and showing off her engagement ring.

The girl captioned the photo: “Thank you to everyone who sent us their best wishes on our engagement day! I'm in awe of you, Will Byler, and I hope everyone has a love like ours in their lives."

Bailey captioned the post with the words: “Today begins our forever together!”

On one of the pictures taken after the engagement, the couple happily smiles in the cockpit of a helicopter.

Madi Wagner, a friend of the couple, also wrote a few words: “These two spent their last day on this earth together with their dearest people - I believe it is truly the best day of their lives. I know for sure that God needs these two sweet souls more than we do here on earth. And he will be proud of them for what they have done here."
