Top cheapest places to fly from every state in America

While the pandemic has kept many travelers at home, the year has been filled with travel offers. But the cheapest seat depended on where the passengers were flying from. Overall, the cheapest destination from many states was San Juan (Puerto Rico), topping the list of California, Washington, Arizona, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Vermont.

Then San Jose, Costa Rica, with cheap flights from Idaho, Maine, Montana, Rhode Island, South Dakota, New Mexico and Wyoming. The US Virgin Islands were also a popular destination, with cheap flights to St. Croix from Texas, Florida and Illinois, and cheap flights to St. Thomas from Louisiana and South Carolina.

In the Midwest, Canada took the lead: from Kansas and North Dakota it is most profitable to fly to Montreal, and from Nebraska to Toronto. From Alaska and Hawaii, the best prices were to Guatemala City, and from West Virginia, the cheapest flight was to Madrid, Spain. From Mississippi to Sao Paulo (Brazil), from Alabama to Belize City (Belize), and from Arkansas to Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.

The company has broken down the directions and by regions. For those looking to Europe, Helsinki was overwhelmingly the cheapest place to travel from 29 states, while offers to Madrid and Reykjavik were also popular. Most states had flights to the continent for less than $ 299 round trip, although there were slightly more in Alaska, Montana and Wyoming.

For African destinations, geographic proximity to Europe equaled lower prices. Tunisia was the cheapest for flights from 32 states along with Morocco, mostly to Casablanca, although Marrakech was cheaper from California and Agadir from Illinois. From Georgia the best offers were to Cairo (Egypt), from New Jersey to Dakar (Senegal), and from New Mexico to Nairobi (Kenya). Most flights to the continent cost around $500 round trip.

In Asia, although Japan's borders were closed, flights to Tokyo were still the most popular at just $299 round trip. Hong Kong was the cheapest to fly from Georgia and Nevada, while Beijing was the cheapest from Indiana and Washington. Meanwhile, Bangalore, India offered the best prices on airfare from North Dakota, South Dakota and Kansas, while Taipei, Taiwan was the cheapest for Hawaii.

In the Middle East, cheap flights dominated to Tbilisi, Georgia, the cheapest of the 17 states; followed by Dubai with 12, and Tel Aviv with 8. But most flights still cost at least $500. In Oceania, Papeete in French Polynesia was surprisingly the best deal in 27 states. Flight prices to Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia are especially low for residents of California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and Arizona.

In the Caribbean, flying to San Juan, Puerto Rico was the best value out of 27 states, with Port of Spain coming in second and Santa Cruz third. In Latin America, San Jose (Costa Rica) was followed by Guatemala City in nine states, Cancun in eight states and Belize City in seven states. In both regions, tickets mostly cost less than $299 roundtrip, with many even less, ranging from $100 to $199.

As for Canada, as soon as the country opened its borders to Americans in August, the number of flights increased sharply, with Toronto and Montreal generally being the cheapest destinations for the eastern regions, and Vancouver and Calgary for the western regions. In general, the cost of tickets did not exceed $299 round trip.
