US News & World Report has published an annual list top US universities.
The experts evaluated more than 1 800 American universities by various criteria: location, campus atmosphere, quality of teaching and classes, accessibility and variety of sports activities, cost of education and availability of financial assistance or scholarships.
We offer you the top 20 of them: some of the universities that scored the same number of points were combined in the list, which led to the “loss” of certain places from the ranking.
20 - this place was shared between three educational institutions: the University of California, Berkeley (California), Georgetown University (Washington), Emory University, Atlanta (Georgia) - they all received 78 points out of 100.
19 - Washington University, St. Louis (Missouri) - 84 points.
The next few universities scored 85 points and divided the 15 place among themselves (as decided by the experts). These include: Vanderbilt University, Nashville (Tennessee), University of Notre Dame (Indiana), Rice University, Houston (Texas), Cornell University, Ithaca (New York).
14 - Brown University, Providence (Rhode Island) - 87 points.
12 - Northwestern University, Evanson (Illinois), California Institute of Technology, Pasadena (California) - 89 points.
11 - Dartmouth College, Hanover (New Hampshire) - 90 points.
10 - Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore (Maryland) - 91 points.
8 - University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Duke University, Durham (North Carolina) - 92 points.
7 - Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge (Massachusetts) - 94 points.
5 - Stanford University, Palo Alto (California), Columbia University, New York (New York State) - 95 points.
3 - Yale University, New Haven (Connecticut), University of Chicago (Illinois) - 97 points.
2 - Harvard, Cambridge (Massachusetts) - 98 points.
1 - Princeton University, Princeton (New Jersey) - 100 points.
