Top 15 cities where you can buy housing for less than $ 250 000
Most Americans find it a good time to buy a home. The survey was conducted by the National Association of Realtors. However, the survey showed that people with higher incomes more than people with lower incomes believe that you can now buy a house.
“It's no wonder that as income rises, the process of buying a home becomes less tangible,” said Laurence Young, chief economist at the National Association of Realtors. Given that the average home price in the US is $ 289 000 dollars, it is not surprising that people with low wages are unlikely to find this time suitable for buying a home. But this does not mean that now there is no affordable housing.
Edition GOBankingRates found 15 cities where the average cost of a house is below the national average and the quality of life is at an appropriate level. But it is one thing to find a cheap house and quite another to find an inexpensive house in an area with a low crime rate, affordable cost of living and many amenities. The study examined the largest cities in the United States, where the average cost of housing is less than $ 250 000 based on the Zillow online real estate database for 2019 year. The study also took into account other criteria, such as:
- Living standards
- Average income
- Crime rate on 1000 residents
- Unemployment rate among residents aged 20 to 64 years
- Percentage of population living below the poverty line
- Annual living wage
