Top-10 US states where the happiest and most unhappy people live
A new study evaluated the US states in terms of happiness.
For this, the regions were compared in several key aspects, including emotional and physical well-being, the work environment, the community and the environment, believing that good economic, emotional, physical and social conditions are the key to a well-balanced and full life, writes Wallethub.
For each criterion, dozens of metrics were assessed and a score was derived, after which the state was assigned an overall score reflecting its level of happiness - from 1 to 100, with 100 being the highest level of happiness).
Top 10 of the happiest US states:
- Hawaii (68.27 points from 100);
- Utah (67,84);
- Minnesota (67,26);
- North Dakota (65,62);
- California (63.14);
- Idaho (63.09);
- Maryland (61,78);
- Iowa (61.07);
- South Dakota (60,80);
- Nebraska (59.11).
Top 10 most unfortunate US states:
- West Virginia (33,42);
- Arkansas (36,61);
- Louisiana (37,15);
- Alaska (38,21);
- Oklahoma (38,89);
- Alabama (39.35);
- Kentucky (39.42);
- Mississippi (41,63);
- Missouri (42,76);
- New Mexico (43,35).
New York ranked 14th on the list; Florida - 29; Illinois - 23.
