Top 10 best beaches in the world and the USA: the list includes places for lovers of different weather

Tripadvisor has published a ranking of the best beaches in the world and the USA. The beach rankings are part of Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards, which are based on millions of traveler reviews throughout 2022. CNN.

Stretching out on the best beach in the world won't be easy. Baía do Sancho can only be reached by boat, or by stairs descending steep cliffs to the golden sands below.

The beach is located in Fernando de Noronha, an archipelago about 354 km from the coast of the Brazilian mainland, in the state of Pernambuco. Visitors to the islands arrive by plane or boat.

Getting there is difficult, but what awaits persistent travelers is well worth the effort, according to a new Tripadvisor ranking. According to the annual list of the best beaches in the world, published on February 28, Baía do Sancho has become the world's best stretch of coastline for 2023.

Other best beaches

The Caribbean has three spots in the 10 top 2023, including No. 2 Eagle Beach in Aruba, No. 5 Grace Bay Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands and No. 9 Varadero Beach in Cuba. Last year, Grace Bay Beach and Varadero Beach took first and second place respectively. Eagle Beach was No. 5 in 2022.

The top 10 list also includes one beach in the United States, Maui's Ka'anapali Beach at number 10. The beach is ranked number one on a separate list of Tripadvisor's 10 Best Beaches in the United States in 2023.

Located on the west coast of the island, Kaanapali boasts 5 km of white sand and the famous Puʻu Kekaʻa or Black Rock diving ritual. Every evening at sunset, torches along the cliff are lit by a diver who then dives off the cliff, reenacting the feat of Maui's King Kahekili.

While Ka'anapali Beach was the only beach to make the world's top 11 list, two other beaches in the US ranked 12th and 25th: Siesta Beach on Siesta Key, Florida, and Georgia's Driftwood Beach, Jekyll -Island. Magens Bay on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands also made the top 24 list, coming in at number XNUMX.

Europe has three beaches in the top 10 of 2023: Reynisfjara Beach in Vik, Iceland at number 4, Praia da Falésia in Olhos de Agua, Portugal at number 6 and Italy's Spiaggia dei Conigli at number 8 -th place. Only one of the three was also in the 10 top 2022 - Spiaggia dei Conigli in Sicily was No. 10 in 2022.

The white crescent and shallow turquoise waters of Spiaggia dei Conigli on the Sicilian island of Lampedusa contrast sharply with the black sand, deep blue water and striking geometric basalt columns of Reynisfjara Beach, which appeared in Game of Thrones.

Tripadvisor noted that the list includes some options that do not fall into the category of hot and sunny beaches.

"So, whether you're looking to pack a windbreaker or swimsuit, our list has something for a wide range of travelers - and our ranking might even convince the most ardent beach naysayers to spend some time on the sand," said Sarah Fiershein, chief editor at Tripadvisor, in press release.

Australia ranks one in the top 10. This is the No. 3 Cable Beach in Broome, located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. One of the most popular activities in Broome is a sunset camel ride along this 22 km stretch of Indian Ocean coastline. Cable Beach ranked 11th on last year's global list.

Radhanagar Beach No. 7 on Havelock Island (Svarag Dweep) in the Andaman Islands represents India on the list. In 2022, the beach was ranked sixth.
