Texan demands free Walmart shopping for the rest of his life
On January 8, Roderick Jackson, a Texas resident from Waskom, sued Walmart. He claims the Nebraska store wrongly accused him of theft and violated his civil rights, reports NBC.

The Texan is seeking $100 million in damages or “unlimited free shopping for life” at any chain store.
The complaints do not specify why Jackson is suing. The incident is alleged to have occurred in March 2021 at a store in Omaha, Nebraska, and involved a “false pretense of shoplifting” as well as a civil rights violation of Jackson “on the basis of race/color.”
Jackson, among other things, is demanding that Walmart pay all of his legal fees. He filed the complaints without a lawyer.

A Walmart spokesperson said on Jan. 11 that the company "does not tolerate discrimination of any kind."
“Jackson’s allegations are nearly identical to a lawsuit he filed against our company in 2021, which was dismissed. We intend to defend the company against charges once we have been properly served with the documents. We will ask the court to dismiss any claims that are not substantiated,” the company said.
In 2021, Jackson sued Walmart over the same alleged incident. In that complaint, he wrote that he was falsely accused of a crime because of his race, which led to his arrest.
According to the complaint, Jackson suffered emotional distress and pain from the handcuffs.
He initially demanded $100 million and “unlimited future purchases,” but later amended the lawsuit to demand $175 million in damages.
The case was dismissed that year because the plaintiff failed to adequately prove Walmart was at fault, according to court documents.
