Federal court ruled unconstitutional over COVID-19 quarantine
A federal judge in Pennsylvania ruled that the Democrat's orders to close businesses and restrict gatherings to fight COVID-19 were unconstitutional. Writes about it "Voice of America".
The quarantine measures, introduced at the start of the coronavirus epidemic in March, have been challenged in court by several Republican lawmakers and small business owners, who said the restrictions put their businesses at risk.
Judge William Stickman ruled in their favor, arguing that even if the governor was motivated by “good intentions in response to the health emergency,” he did not have the right to infringe on citizens' fundamental freedoms.

“There is no doubt that our country has faced and will continue to face emergencies of all kinds,” the judge said. "But the solution to the national crisis must not be allowed to take precedence over the commitment to personal freedoms that underpin American law."
He sharply criticized the "arbitrary" decisions to recognize enterprises as "important" or "unimportant", stating that no objective definitions were given to this.
“The constitution sets out certain boundaries that cannot be crossed even in emergency situations,” the judge wrote.
