The court announced the decision to remove Zelensky from the elections in Ukraine

The Sixth Court of Appeal of Kiev completed the consideration of the claim of lawyer and election observer Andrei Khilko to cancel the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to register the showman Vladimir Zelensky as a presidential candidate in Ukraine, writes “Newspaper.ru".

The reason for the cancellation of registration Hilko called allegedly bribing voters by Zelensky. The only evidence he gave was the post of a candidate for Facebook about the debate at the stadium.

In it, the showman pointed out the possibility of getting free tickets to the debates. Khilko believes that the announcement of the tickets to the debate on the candidate’s page is a buy-in of voters, therefore his screen was the main proof of the corresponding post.

During the consideration of the case, the representative of the CEC of Ukraine called the claim unfounded and urged the court not to satisfy him.

After more than two hours of consideration, the court concluded that Zelensky’s call to purchase tickets for the debates did not fall under the definition of “bribery of voters,” so the candidate’s registration was not canceled.

Recall consideration lawsuit on withdrawing a favorite candidate from election caused a great resonance in society.

Many have stated that the incumbent president Petro Poroshenko, Zelensky’s rival, stands behind Khilko. However, his headquarters denied this information. Presidential spokesman Oleg Medvedev said: "We have nothing to do with this lawsuit at all, we believe that this is a discredit on the eve of the elections."
