The student died trying to make a beautiful photo of New York

A Fordham University student climbed the campus bell tower to photograph the skyline of New York and died after an accidental fall, the university reports.

22-year-old Cindy Monfils got into the campus bell tower at 3 one o'clock in the morning, but collapsed through a hole in the first landing of the tower, flying down 40 feet (12 meters). During the fall, the girl hit her head.

She was hospitalized in a hospital where at first the condition was assessed as critical. But in the evening, the university president announced her death, sending an e-mail to the students.

“Our hearts go out to Sydney's parents, family and friends. This is an incredible loss, and we share in their grief,” wrote the Rev. Joseph M. McShane. “There are no words that can describe the loss of such a young and hopeful student just a few weeks after graduation. "Fordham will award Cindy's bachelor's degree posthumously and present it to her parents at an appropriate time."

Students said that climbing the tower, touching the bell and photos of stunning views were part of the “initiation ceremony” for graduates.
