Student in Vermont died because of frost, trying to cut off the path to the parking lot

An 19 year-old student at the University of Vermont was found dead by the February 2, which has become one of the coldest groundhog days in decades.

The Burlington Police Department said in a press release that law enforcement officers received a call about "an unconscious man lying in the snow in the parking lot of one of the companies" around 10: February 48 2.

Rescuers tried to reanimate a 19-year-old man, but to no avail, he was declared dead at the scene.

Police found no sign of the violent death of a student.

“Exposure to cold weather appears to be a cause or significant contributing factor in this death,” police said.

At that time, according to weather forecasters, the temperature was between minus 1 and minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit (from -18 to -20 degrees Celsius).

The Bureau of the National Meteorological Service in Burlington reported that on Saturday during the day the temperature dropped to minus 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-21 degrees Celsius), which was the lowest temperature on Groundhog Day from the year 1993 when the temperature reached -8 degrees Fahrenheit ( -22 centigrade).

Burlington police said that the severe cold, along with "clothing that does not meet the weather conditions," contributed to the death of the young man. The investigation continues, the police determine where the deceased was a few hours before his death, as well as whether he took alcohol or drugs.

Gage, who was supposed to graduate in 2022, studied neuroscience.
