Builders and miners were the most drinkers in the US
Alcohol and drug abuse depends on the profession, has established US Department of Health and Human Services. According to him, workers of heavy physical labor — miners and builders — are most often attached to the bottle.
In their study of 2008-2012, sociologists looked at five and more drinks at a time for five days or more per month. One serving is 14 grams of pure alcohol contained in a glass of beer, a glass of wine, or a glass of strong alcohol.
Most alcoholics were among the workers of heavy physical labor. According to experts, 17,5 percent of miners abuse alcohol. The second line was taken by builders with 16,5 percent.
In the third place in the list of alcoholism threatening the development was employment in the hotel and restaurant business. Employees in these areas took the first line on drug abuse - more than 19 percent of them take illegal drugs.
Managers, as it turned out, are more often addicted to drugs than alcohol. More than 12 percent of managers take illicit drugs, while they drink without measure less than 10 percent.
The bottom lines of the list of alcohol lovers were occupied by education and health care workers. Among them, researchers counted less than 5 percent alcohol abusers.
Least of all drug addicts were among the officials - 4,3 percent of the total number of civil servants.
