Old new home: where Trump will live after leaving the presidency

After leaving office, President Donald Trump is expected to live at his club in Palm Beach, Florida, writes USA Today.

But these plans are being questioned. Some of Trump's neighbors, fed up with four years of road closures and checkpoints, do not want the 45th president to live in Mar-a-Lago... They claim that he lost this right when he converted Mar-a-Lago into a club in 1993.

However, living in Mar-a-Lago as a former president will be very different from visiting this place on weekends as incumbent head of state. What will be different?

Much smaller unit of the Secret Service will keep an eye on the former first family, as well as 500 club members and guests attending numerous weddings, charity events, photo shoots and a car dealership that is rented on the club's premises.

The club's living quarters have been renovatedbut they will still be much smaller than the top three floors of Manhattan's Trump Tower, where the Trumps lived before moving to the White House.

Life will surely be noisier. Mar-a-Lago is directly below the main aircraft flight path near Palm Beach International Airport. The planes flying over the estate are so loud that Trump once sued the airport. While he was president, air traffic was diverted from Mar-a-Lago for security reasons. When Trump becomes former president, planes are expected to fly directly over the club again.

Additionally, the former president's motorcade will be much smallerand Trump's timetable will no longer be public.

Also Trump's property has a helipad, the only private one on the island... The city council reluctantly gave Trump a building permit, stating two conditions: the site should only be used for official presidential affairs; it will be dismantled when Trump leaves office.

Over the years, Trump's private corporate helicopter has been spotted on multiple occasions. No plans to dismantle it have been announced yet.
