The old woman fought off the guy who entered her house, and then took pity on him and fed him while waiting for the police

Marjorie Perkins from Maine realized that the 17-year-old who broke into her house was "terribly hungry." She gave him food and called 911. The publication told more about the precedent The Guardian.

First, an 87-year-old woman from Brunswick, Maine, began to fight off a teenager who broke into her house. But then she gave him something to eat when he said he was hungry.

Marjorie slept peacefully at home, but around 02:00 on July 26, she woke up and saw a 17-year-old boy standing over her, who said: "I will cut you." She knew this teenager, because he often mowed her lawn.

If he's going to cut me, I'll fight back, Perkins thought then.

The former elementary school teacher stood up and began to put on her shoes, but the attacker hit her.

Perkins was not at a loss: grabbing a chair and using it as a shield, she began to scream for help. But there was no one in the house or nearby. The teenager pushed the victim and hit her several times with his fist, in particular on the forehead, where a bruise remained.

Perkins also did not remain in debt - she kicked the offender with her foot and a chair, which prevented him from approaching.

In the end, the victim said, the boy was tired: leaving her alone, he went to the kitchen. It was then that Perkins noticed that the robber was not wearing pants or shoes. He placed them next to his knife - near the window air conditioner, which he had removed to break into the house.

“You need to go out,” the hostess told the boy. - Do you need help".

He replied that he was "terribly hungry and had not eaten anything for a long time."

Then Perkins handed him a pack of peanut butter, honey crackers; gave him two tangerines and a couple containers of Ensure protein shakes.

The teen accepted Perkins' offer and even started eating some of the treats. While the boy was distracted, the victim grabbed her phone and dialed 911 "as fast as she could."

Alas, the intruder left before the arrival of the patrol squad. But the police still tracked him down a few blocks from the house with the help of a police dog. They arrested the perpetrator and sent him to a juvenile detention center on charges of burglary, menacing and assault.

In addition, the teenager faces charges of underage drinking because he had a bottle of alcohol in it when he was arrested.

Perkins hopes the boy will get all the help he needs to get his life back on track. According to her, he did a "damn good job" when he mowed her lawn for extra income.

According to the victim, she is grateful that she did not suffer more because she remains active and teaches dance lessons.

Perkins urged people to make sure their window air conditioners are secure so as not to give rise to burglars. She said that a neighbor gave her a bat for protection, and a worker attached her air conditioner with screws.
