Abigail Jackson, Mary Dyson, Allison King and Amy Stenberg were killed along with their husbands Adam Jackson, Robert Dyson and Axel Stenberg in an accident in upstate New York.

The identity of the driver was confirmed by the twin brother at the scene of the accident.

“It breaks my heart to think about the 20 people who lost their lives in this terrible incident that happened Saturday in Schoharie,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday. “I pay tribute to the emergency services who arrived on the scene and worked throughout the night to provide assistance. State Police are working with federal and local authorities to investigate the accident, and I have directed state agencies to provide all necessary resources to assist in this investigation and determine the circumstances that led to the tragedy."

This accident has become the largest in terms of the number of victims in the last nine years. In February 2009, an 50 man died in an accident in the city of Buffalo.
