Kate Spade was known as a designer of clothing, shoes and jewelry. In 1993, she and her husband Andy Spade founded a bag company Kate Spade Handbags.

In 1996, the company opened its first store in New York, and today it has more than 300 offices around the world.

In 2007, Kate Spade sold her brand to a design company. Coach, the transaction amount was estimated at 2,4 billion dollars. After that, the couple launched a new design project - Frances valentinenamed after their daughter.
