The application is approved by the Administration and Budget Administration of the Presidential Administration 23 May. It is valid until 30 November 2017.

The report notes that the visa applicant may also be interested in the numbers of all previously issued foreign passports, as well as his detailed biography for 15 years, including data on employment and travel to different countries of the world.

A spokeswoman for the US embassy in the Russian Federation, Maria Olson, confirmed this information, but assured that these changes affect only a fraction of a percent of more than 13 million annual visa applications worldwide.

The decision to fill out the application takes the employee of the consular department of the embassy at its discretion. Additional questions may be asked if such information is “needed to confirm identity or to conduct a thorough inspection in the interests of national security.”
