The Kremlin has begun preparations for a response to the expansion of the US sanctions against Russia.

About it says in the comments of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov, posted on Online Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Washington again “stepped on the same rake”: on August 22, the US Treasury decided to expand the anti-Russian sanctions lists - this time on the North Korean issue. The “trend” set by the Barack Obama administration for the consistent collapse of bilateral relations has continued,” Ryabkov said.

According to him, Moscow has always advocated and will continue to advocate “in favor of resolving existing disagreements through dialogue,” “the language of sanctions is unacceptable for Russia” and “only interferes with the resolution of real problems.”

“Against such a depressing background, the arguments of American representatives about the desire to stabilize bilateral ties sound extremely unconvincing,” the politician believes.

“Still, we do not lose hope that the voice of reason will sooner or later prevail, and our American colleagues will realize the futility and harmfulness of further unwinding of the sanctions spiral. In the meantime, we are starting to work out the inevitable response measures in this situation,” the diplomat noted.

On August 22, the United States expanded its sanctions lists on North Korea to include the Moscow-based Hephaestus group of companies. The restrictions affected Hephaestus General Director Ruben Kirakosyan. In addition, sanctions were imposed on Andrei Serbin and Mikhail Pisklin, who in 2012 ran for the Vladivostok Legislative Assembly from the Right Cause party. Fourth on the list was the executive director of a company operating in Singapore. Velmur Management Irina Hewish.
