The United States warned of the danger of terrorist attacks on the Independence Day of Ukraine
Diplomats remind: the places of large crowds of people often become targets of extremists.
On Independence Day of Ukraine 24 in August, the country will increase the terrorist danger, writes Today.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the American Embassy in Kyiv, recalling that extremists like the Islamic State often use holiday periods to “promote their agenda and attacks.”
“Holidays and days leading up to them can become their target. For example, in August it could be the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha (Eid al-Adha – ed.) on August 11-12 and Ukraine’s Independence Day (August 24),” the embassy’s communiqué says.

Diplomats recalled that attacks usually occur in crowded places: at public events, rallies, in nightclubs and other places of large crowds.
In this regard, the embassy urges to avoid demonstrations, follow the news and be especially vigilant in places where there are many tourists.
In January, the US State Department published the country's annual security ranking, in which Ukraine was marked with alarming yellow - that is, foreigners should be especially careful while visiting the country.
