The USA will give Ukraine 16 patrol boats worth more than $ 600 million

The United States has approved the transfer of 16 Mark VI patrol boats and related equipment to Ukraine in the amount of more than $ 600 million, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States reported. Writes about it "Voice of America".

According to the report, Ukraine will receive part of these boats as security assistance from the United States according to the relevant American programs. Ukraine will buy the other part from the United States under the International Military Sales (FMS) program.

The day before, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that “six boats from the United States under relevant programs are already being prepared for Ukraine as part of security assistance.”

According to him, Kiev will allocate funds for these boats from the defense budget.

In a tweet, Dmitry Kuleba said that this American support “will increase the capabilities of the Ukrainian naval forces and help counter existing and potential threats in the Black and Azov Seas.”

Dmitry Kuleba thanked the American partners and noted that “this support, together with the reform of the security sector, defense and defense industry, will help Ukraine develop a modern, interoperable NATO Armed Forces that are capable of effectively resisting Russian aggression.”
