USA recalled all diplomats from Venezuela

All US 14 March diplomats left Venezuela, but they will continue their work from other places.

This was stated by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, writes RBC.

“Now American diplomats will continue their mission from other places, where they will continue to help manage the flow of humanitarian aid to the Venezuelan people and support democratic actors who bravely resist tyranny,” said Pompeo.

Earlier, he reported that the US intends to withdraw its diplomats from Venezuela in the near future. Their presence in the country was "a deterrent to US policy," the state secretary emphasized. The Venezuelan authorities of March 13 gave American diplomats 72 an hour to leave the country.

Recall pThe Venezuela political crisis escalated after January 23 35-year-old Juan Guaydo, who holds the post of head of the National Assembly of Venezuela, declared himself the leader of the country. Several states, including the United States, have declared recognition of the authority of Guaydo.

In response to this Maduro announced an attempted coup, severed diplomatic relations with the United States and gave the American diplomats 72 hours to leave Venezuela, but then Mike Pompeo said that the diplomats would not go anywhere and stay in the country at the invitation of Guaydo.

By March, the situation between the United States and Venezuela worsened, and Washington decided to withdraw the diplomats.

Maduro entered the second presidential term in early January 2019 of the year - the opposition boycotted the elections and also accused him of falsifying the vote.

Maduro was reelected for a second term in 2018, however, the elections were restless, many opposition candidates were jailed or faced with a ban on participation.

The National Assembly claims that in fact the presidency is not busy, since the elections were held with irregularities. In accordance with the Constitution, this means that Guaydo - as head of the assembly (parliament) - should assume the role of acting president.

Tens of thousands of people went to the protests in connection with the economic crisis in Venezuela. According to the opposition, the annual inflation rate reached 1,3 million percent last year.
