The United States will arrest all citizens of Uzbekistan trying to enter the country across the border with Mexico

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has informed the State Department that, effective November 20, Uzbek citizens who entered the U.S. illegally through the U.S.-Mexico border will not be released into the U.S. but will be detained until their immigration case is resolved. The United States works closely with the government of Uzbekistan to expel Uzbek citizens who do not have a legal basis to remain in the United States. Removals are carried out through commercial airlines and charter missions contracted by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Illegal migration across the U.S.-Mexico border into the United States is dangerous and costly. Avoid false promises from smugglers. Use safe and legal ways to travel in the United States,” the department said.

Individuals who illegally crossed the US border will be prohibited from entering the country legally for at least five years. Family members who assist in illegal migration may also be denied a visa.

“While the United States works with foreign partners to ensure safe, orderly and humane migration processes, it will expeditiously expel all undocumented migrants and non-citizens who do not have a lawful basis for being in the United States,” the embassy added.
