The US Embassy in Tajikistan has published on its website that recently they have been receiving messages from citizens who have been victims of fraudsters who, using the name of an organization located in the United States, tried to get them to pay for the provision of visa services. .

“They received an invitation to participate in an international conference, and they were asked to pay more than $ 2000 for the provision of visa services,” - quoted by the message of the US Embassy in Tajikistan “Radio Liberty".
Such schemes operate not only in Tajikistan, so applicants for a US visa from different countries should pay attention to the advice of diplomats. In order not to become a victim of fraudsters, the embassy recommends that you read the following information:
- The embassy never sends a message to the visa applicant from your Gmail account. The official email addresses of the US government end in “.gov,” and any message related to obtaining a visa coming from an address that does not end in “.gov” should be considered suspicious.

- The embassy never asks applicants to pay the visa fee by check, money order or via Western Union. The visa fee is paid in cash on the day of your scheduled interview or through a special bank account, which is listed on the official website of the embassy.
