The US Embassy in Ukraine congratulated residents and guests of the capital on Kiev Day. Employees shared their impressions of the city, telling why they love the Ukrainian capital.

Congratulation posted on 26 May on the page of the diplomatic department on Twitter, notes Today.

“Congratulations on Kyiv Day! We share with you the stories of American diplomats about how they live in Kyiv and what this city will be remembered for,” the message said, to which the corresponding video was attached.

“I will always remember Kyiv because we got a puppy here,” says an employee named Leila. — Last summer we adopted a dog and named her Pepper. She was found in the park and sent to a shelter, where we took her from. She loves exploring the streets of Kyiv - just like her mommy.”

“I really love coffee, and when I arrived in Kyiv, I was very happy that here you can buy coffee in pink snails (small mobile coffee shops - ForumDaily’s note), on buses and in various, interesting cafes,” says Kristin in Ukrainian .

Couple Yuen and Kristi En tell how they met each other in the Ukrainian capital.

“I will always remember Kyiv as the place where I met the girl of my dreams,” admits Ewan.

“And I will always remember him, because it was here that we got married,” his wife echoes.

But Ray is delighted with the Kiev cathedrals. Like Christine, he speaks good Ukrainian.

“When I was a student, I studied history. But I never knew about cathedrals in Kyiv,” says the man. — I like to visit Hagia Sophia and St. Vladimir’s Cathedral. They have very beautiful architecture, wonderful frescoes and icons. I will always remember Kyiv for its beautiful cathedrals.”

“I think what I will remember most about Kyiv are walks with my children in the parks,” says a woman named Emilin. “We go to parks as soon as possible, ride bicycles, sled, explore different parts of Kyiv, parks, walk with our dog.”

Employee Ilona recalls that she fell in love with Kyiv for the pysanky (painted Easter eggs - ForumDaily's note).

“I will always remember Kyiv, because it was here that I fell in love with Easter eggs, I even went to a master class to learn how to make them myself,” the girl said.

And Michael met Lilya here - his love and future wife.

“More than 20 years ago, I came to Kyiv for my first diplomatic job at the US Embassy in Ukraine. And here I met a girl from Darnitsa (a region on the left bank of the Dnieper - ForumDaily), who later became my wife,” recalls Michael.

“We got married here and I will always love my city of Kyiv!” Lilya says in Ukrainian.

Catherine calls Kiev the city of her dreams.

“I will always remember walking along the streets at such a wonderful time of year as now - in May, when everything is green and beautiful,” the woman shares. — I love to meet something unexpected while walking - sculptures, works of art, I always admire theme parks, playgrounds. They are so wonderful!”
