Deadly gunfire and stab wounds: US has a turbulent weekend
Several states in the United States have been unsettled over the weekend with a series of attacks that have killed people.
In Nebraska, a man wounded 4 people in a restaurant: two died
Nebraska man arrested for allegedly injuring four people, two of whom died, at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant, writes USA Today.
Roberto Carlos Silva Jr., 23, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson. In a press release from the Bellevue Police Department, Silva has been detained in Sarpi County Jail.
Police responded to reports of a possible bomb inside a moving truck in a fast food restaurant parking lot on Saturday night, November 21, in Bellevue near Omaha, according to Lt. Andy Jashinski. A minute later, the call was updated with a message about a possible shooting.
Police have identified those killed as Nathan Pastrana, 22, and Ryan Helbert, 28, both restaurant employees who were killed in the shooting, police said late Sunday, Nov. 22. Two other employees, 18-year-old Zoe Reece Atalig Lujan and 25-year-old Kenneth Gerner, were hospitalized. A fifth Sonic employee suffered minor injuries but declined treatment at the hospital. The shooter's motive remains unknown.
Jashinski told reporters that a "firework" or "device" caused the truck to catch fire. A KETV reporter posted a video on Twitter showing a crew of firefighters trying to extinguish the truck late Saturday night, November 21.
Silva had previously been arrested on Wednesday, November 18, for identity theft at the same restaurant. According to the World-Herald, he allegedly used the Sonic app to order hamburgers and corn dog for $ 57. During the arrest, the police seized three firearms from Silva. He was released from prison on Thursday November 19 after paying 10% of his $ 1500 bond.

The name of the police suspect has not been released. Officials say the suspect's photo was not initially released due to fears that the investigation could be compromised and evidence destroyed.

In California, two people were stabbed to death in a church
Two people died from injuries at Grace Baptist Church in San Jose, California on Sunday night, Nov.22, according to the San Jose Police Department. Writes about it CNN.

In New York, three people were stabbed: one was killed
A man fought for his life after being wounded in the middle of 34th Street in the early morning of Sunday, November 22, just a few blocks from where two more knife attacks had occurred a few hours earlier, writes New York Post.
The latest victim, a 51-year-old man, was left in a pool of blood on Manhattan's main street at the 8th Avenue intersection after a fight around 8:30 am, police sources said.
“I heard a scream and then I saw the guy running towards the subway,” witness Sek Queen, 23, of Brooklyn, told The Post. “Then others started running. I turned around and saw a guy on the ground bleeding—badly. It looked bad."
According to police, the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition.
The Sunday attack came just four blocks from where a man was stabbed to death late Saturday night, November 21. It happened outside the 2 Bros Pizza diner, and another stab was struck late Saturday night on the train to Grand Central.
Sources identified the murdered man as 39-year-old Ronald Massaro. He was wounded in the chest after a fight with another man. Massaro was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Sources said the suspect, whom they named Lawrence Downey, 52, was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
About an hour after the attack, a subway driver, identified by sources as 53-year-old Luis Andino, was wounded in the face after a fight with two men that began on a train in the city center and crossed onto the platform. Benigno Perez, 37, was arrested on suspicion of assault, with a second suspect still at large.
