The death of a woman was taken for an accident, after 6 years it turned out that her husband killed her

An 46-year-old man from Manhattan (New York) was convicted of killing his wife, with whom they were in the process of divorce.

47-year-old woman was found strangled in the bathroom of her luxury apartment on the Upper West Side on the eve of the New 2009, writes NBC.

The 13 jury in March found Roderick Kovlin guilty of the murder of financial director Shele Danishefski-Kovlin.

At that time, the couple was in the process of divorcing and separation of custody of children, and the judicial confrontation on this matter was very tough.

Initially, the police considered the death of a woman an accident. For religious reasons, her orthodox Jewish family objected to the autopsy.

But as the suspicion grew, the body of the deceased was exhumed, and the forensic scientist came to the conclusion that she was strangled.

Kovlin, a well-known trader, was finally charged with murder, almost six years after the crime, and convicted four more years later.

Kovlin denied killing his wife, saying that he was trying to give her first aid and called 911.

The sentence to the man will be announced 10 April.
