The death of Putin adviser in the United States: the police published a photo of the room in which they found the body

Washington Police Department (DC) passed RFE / RL photos of the hotel room in which they found the body of the former press minister of Russia, Mikhail Lesin. The photographs depicted the room in the condition in which it was at the time of his death.

Ex-Minister of the Press of Russia and Advisor to the President of Russia Mikhail Lesin were found dead at The Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington 5 on November 2015. The report of the city police found that he drank heavily for several days before his death.

The cause of death was a head injury resulting from a blunt-force strike, as well as acute ethanol poisoning. It is noted that a blow to the head could be the result of a fall, so death was recognized as an accident.

However, many questions concerning the death of Lesin are still open, including about who he spoke with in the US capital and for what reasons he was there.

Recall earlier reporters received police report on the death of Lesin. It states that the politician had a broken neck bone. However, law enforcement officers do not exclude that they could have broken it during an autopsy, so this fracture does not indicate a violent death.

The report also said that at the beginning of 2016, the FBI was considering the possibility of initiating an investigation into the death of Lesin: agents of the federal bureau took part in questioning witnesses and examining the recordings of the hotel’s video cameras, where he died. According to the report, immediately after Lesin’s death, a “friend” of the deceased called to a detective who was investigating the case and asked where the body was. Caller name could not be established.

The report says that there is reason to believe that Lesin wanted to share important information with the US Department of Justice.

The son of the deceased Anton, now living in Beverly Hills, said that his father was constantly drunk during business trips, so his condition at the time of death was not surprising, the man said.

Before moving to a cheap hotel, where Lesina was found dead, the Russian ex-minister lived in an expensive hotel, which more closely corresponded to his passion for luxury. Once he appeared there in a state of severe intoxication, in response to which the hotel administration for some reason called not the police, but the employees of the US Secret Service, which is engaged in protecting the president and ensuring the security of the country's financial system. One of the agents advised the hotel management to keep the duty officer at Lesin’s room, who would not let him go anywhere.
