Plane Crashed in California Residential Area: There Are Dead
Early in the morning of May 22, a Cessna 550 plane crashed into a residential area of San Diego, California. Fires broke out at the crash site, reports Air force.

The death toll varies. San Diego police reported two victims. However, local company Sound Talent Group said three of its employees died in the crash: music agent Dave Shapiro and two unnamed colleagues.
The Federal Aviation Administration said there were six people on board.

San Diego police said no one on the ground was seriously injured. One of the victims was hospitalized, and the others were treated at the scene. Ten houses were partially destroyed, and one was completely destroyed. Authorities evacuated several blocks of residents (about 10 people in total).
The plane's wreckage was scattered over a wide area, said San Diego Deputy Fire Chief Dan Eddy.
All the cars along the 400-meter street where the plane fell burned.
The weather in the area at the time of the crash was foggy. The plane came down in the Murphy Canyon area of San Diego.
San Diego Fire Deputy Chief Dan Eddy said the plane appeared to be headed to Montgomery Field.

The Murphy Canyon area, where the plane crashed, is home primarily to military families. There are several military bases within a short distance of Murphy Canyon. The population here is about 9600 people.
Naval Base San Diego Commander Bob Healy noted that it is one of the largest military settlements in the world.
