Veterans Day Immigration will grant 1600 citizenship to the military
On Veterans Day, the US Citizenship and Immigration Service will conduct 23 naturalization ceremonies for 1600 foreign military serving in the US Army and their wives.
“USCIS is committed to providing immigration services to military members and their families. We provide services to former and active military personnel, wherever they are located, and offer an expedited naturalization application process,” the department said in a statement.
It is noted that since 1 October 2001, the agency naturalized more than 125 000 servicemen, of whom more than 11 300 people became US citizens during ceremonies that took place in other countries.
The first ceremony will be held on November 13 Patriot's Point Naval and Maritime Museum in South Carolina.
