After updating the Oxford dictionary, 1200 has been added to the English language with new words, phrases and meanings, the site says Oxford English Dictionary.

For example, a word Baltic (“Baltic”) a new meaning has appeared - very cold or icy. In the 19th century this meaning was applied to Arctic ("arctic"). But lately, especially in Scotland, the word baltic.

A new expression has appeared in the dictionary. particle zoo (zoo particles), which means all types of subatomic particles.

This term describes "circumstances in which objective facts are less important for political discussions and the formation of public opinion than references to emotions or personal convictions." Among the thousands of new words there are boston marriage ("Boston marriage") - used mainly in a historical context, to describe the cohabitation of two women, especially those who are firmly friends or have a romantic relationship.
