Too late: 11-month-old baby left on 15 hours in the car
The Calverton Park police promise to thoroughly investigate the death of an 11 month old baby. Investigators believe that Jozlin Eichelberger remained in the parked car on the access road for 15 hours.
The first rescuers tried to help the girl after calling the 911 service, but it was too late.
"The temperature reached about 79 degrees that day, and it can be much hotter inside a warm vehicle," said Chris Robertson, public information officer for Calverton Park.

In his words, the department works closely with the St. Louis District Attorney’s Office.
"It's heartbreaking when someone passes away, especially when it's such a young child," he said.
The grandmother of the child said that she had found her granddaughter in a car on the access road. She and other family members say that parents accidentally left the baby in the car. Everyone thought that the other took her from the car.
“No one would do this on purpose,” said Lily Belfield, a cousin of the family. “If you saw her smile, laugh, giggle, you would think the same thing.” No one would ever harm that child."

One neighbor said she knew the family well and believed that the child had been neglected and hoped to indict the family.
“This is unacceptable,” Velvet Warren said. “The child did not deserve to die.”
The grandmother of the child insists that the parents made an innocent mistake.
