Surveillance, control and arrests: how Israel fights against coronavirus

Israeli authorities have taken emergency measures to monitor compliance with quarantine rules, reports Air force.

Footage has been posted on the Web to show people in special suits detaining a man for escaping from the hospital after a positive coronavirus test 2019-nCoV. Police officers tracked the man through his cell phone.

The self-isolation of suspected cases is strictly checked - the police call home phones and visit apartments. Healthy people are prohibited from going outside unless absolutely necessary; parks and public places are patrolled; if patrol officers find people walking with children, they ask them to return home.

Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Benet said that the time has come to “choose between the right to privacy and, in fact, life.”

• On the evening of Friday, March 20, at the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. 88-year-old man diedwho was diagnosed with COVID-19 disease caused by the 2019-nCoV coronavirus. He arrived here a week ago in very serious condition and was sent to a special detention center.
