Skype launches group video chats on mobile platforms
Skype’s popular VoIP service celebrates a decade from the launch date of free video calls. And in honor of the holiday launches new option: free group video calls for all mobile platforms - Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows 10. This feature is already a couple of years as available for desktops - "Macs" and PCs, but has not yet worked on mobile.
The option will be launched for all hundreds of millions of Skype users around the world “in the coming weeks,” as the official blog the company. And although Skype does not call a specific date, users who would be interested to try, can leave a request for early access to form pre-registration.
There you need to specify email, Skype login, country and device. After registration, the company will send a letter as soon as it launches group video calls for your type of devices. It is not yet clear whether this means the need to bet or whether it will be a regular update.
Skype is not the first instant messenger to launch this feature. In Google Hangouts, you can make group video calls with up to 10 participants. While it is unclear what the maximum number of users can participate in Skype calls on smartphones - for desktops, it is also limited to 10.
Previously "Forum" писалthat on Skype you can now talk even without an account. You do not even need to install the Skype application, just copy a simple URL and send it to your interlocutor.
