The actor Lev Durov died.

After a long hard illness, on the night of 20 in August, director Lev Durov, director, People's Artist of Russia and the USSR, died at the age of 83.

People's Artist was hospitalized on August 7 due to heart problems. Doctors assessed his condition as extremely serious. The condition of the actor is improving, then again becoming worse. In addition, doctors diagnosed Durov severe pneumonia, according to the Air Force.

Lev Konstantinovich Durov was born December 23 1931 of the year in Moscow. The Durov family belongs to the famous dynasty of Russian circus artists, and Lev Durov is the grand-nephew of Anatoly and Vladimir Durov. However, the parents of Lev Durov were not associated with the circus: Father Konstantin Vladimirovich, worked in Soyuzvryvryprome, mother Valentina Ignatyevna - in the military historical archive.

Among the works of Lev Durov are numerous roles in performances based on the works of playwrights of the twentieth century, as well as a gallery of roles in productions of classical authors: Iago in Othello and Tybalt in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Zhevakin in Marriage and Nozdryov in The Road based on Gogol's "Dead Souls", Chebutykin in Chekhov's "Three Sisters", Sganarelle in Moliere's "Don Juan".
The most beloved and difficult role for the actor was the role of Staff Captain Snegirev in Efros’s play “Brother Alyosha” based on the novel “The Brothers Karamazov” by Fyodor Dostoevsky - the role of a little man who does not want to be small.

Lev Durov began acting in films in 1954, after graduating from the Moscow Art Theater School. His debut was a cameo role in the film “Good Morning”. In total, the artist played more than two hundred roles in films. His work in the films “I Walk Through Moscow” (1963), “Old Robbers” (1971), “Seventeen Moments of Spring” (1973), “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers” (1978), “Do Not Send” brought him national fame. Do we need a messenger? (1999) and “The Garden Was Full of the Moon” (2000).

The creative activity of Lev Durov was not limited to cinema and theater, he worked a lot on the radio, taught, performed with creative evenings in different cities of Russia, wrote books.

Lev Durov has received many awards. In 1991, he was awarded the title People's Artist of the USSR. The actor was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1996), “For Services to the Fatherland” IV degree (2002), “For Services to the Fatherland” III degree (2011).

Lev Konstantinovich was married to actress Irina Kirichenko, with whom he lived married until the death of his wife in 2011.

In 1959, they had a daughter, Ekaterina, who also became an actress, and since 1984, she has worked at the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, and also starred in films.
