The attendant in charge of carts at Walmart in Texas was frightened by the discovery of a large rat snake in a shopping cart.

The Northeastern Police reported in a Facebook post that the reptile got into the carts inserted into each other at Walmart, located at the crossroads north of Dallas.

“A loud scream in the Walmart parking lot attracted the attention of an NEPD officer who was patrolling the area that evening,” the department said.

Officials called a man known as “The Snake Charmer” (“Snake Charmer”), named John Heckoman from Savannah, Texas. He helped move the snake. However, according to police, the snake managed to bite him once during the deployment.

“Heavy rains drive many snakes out of their natural habitat. This suggests that they could end up anywhere,” the police said.

According to the National Wildlife Federation, rat snakes are non-poisonous and are commonly found in fields and forests throughout the country, including Connecticut, Caroline, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

“Rat snakes are excellent swimmers and climbers. They use these skills to catch a variety of foods, from bird eggs to frogs, the federal agency reports online. — These are snakes that can most often be seen around buildings, preying on rodents, amphibians and young birds. This type of snake uses its body to strangle its prey.”

According to the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission, rat snakes mate in late May and early June.
