The Institute of Economic Policy considered the level of income that a family should have in order to ensure a modest but comfortable standard of living.

The institute collected data for 10 types of families living in 3 142 counties, determined the monthly and annual cost of living for a family of four (two adults and two children) in the largest US cities 15.

Cities are listed in ascending order of total cost of living.

San Antonio, TX
